Part-Time or Full-Time | Regular Friday–Sunday Schedule | Weekday Expansion Potential

Ānuenue Pediatric & General Dentistry is a pediatric specialist and general dentist team striving to enhance oral health care for children, adults, and families on Hawaiʻi Island. Every stage of life has different oral health needs, and we want to support each individual through the years.

We are looking for a dependable, kind, and clinically skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to provide preventive and periodontal care while creating calm, positive experiences for children, parents, and adult patients.

This is a core Friday–Sunday role. As the practice grows, weekday opportunities may become available.

Compensation

  • Base Pay: $52–$56/hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skills

  • Weekend Differential: Additional $8/hour for all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday

  • Weekend Pay Range: $60–$62/hour for Saturday and Sunday shifts

  • Retention Bonus: $1,500 after successfully completing 180 days of employment

  • Scheduled performance and pay review during onboarding, with annual reviews thereafter

What You Will Do

  • Provide preventive and periodontal dental hygiene care for children, adolescents, and adults

  • Complete oral-health assessments, periodontal charting, dental hygiene documentation, and patient education

  • Perform prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, fluoride varnish, sealants, and other services within Hawaiʻi licensure, training, and practice protocols

  • Administer local anesthesia

  • Obtain and support diagnostic records, including digital radiographs, intraoral photographs, and scans

  • Help children and caregivers feel comfortable through calm, developmentally appropriate communication

  • Provide individualized oral-health education for patients and caregivers

  • Identify clinical findings requiring dentist evaluation and coordinate efficient doctor handoffs

  • Maintain accurate documentation in Oryx and support efficient hygiene scheduling and clinical flow

  • Maintain excellent infection-prevention, sterilization, and operatory-turnover standards

  • Help build systems and standards for a growing, patient-centered dental practice

What We Are Looking For

  • Current, unrestricted Hawaiʻi Registered Dental Hygienist license

  • Current BLS/CPR certification

  • Reliable availability for a regular Friday–Sunday schedule

  • A warm, respectful, patient-centered approach—especially with children and families

  • Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, initiative, and communication skills

  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow with the practice

  • Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed

Preferred, But Not Required

  • Pediatric dental hygiene experience

  • Experience treating patients across the lifespan, including children and adults

  • Strong periodontal therapy, local-anesthesia, intraoral-scanning, and digital-imaging experience

  • Experience with dental software and digital charting

  • Interest in helping establish systems for a growing dental practice

  • Additional language skills
